Pachmarhi - Queen of Satpura (Complete Guide)
Pachmarhi - Queen of Satpura
सतपुड़ा के घने जंगल
नींद मे डूबे हुए से
ऊंघते अनमने जंगल
You can enjoy the beauty of nature in Pachmarhi. Also you can visit Satpura Tiger Reserve. There are also many famous temples here. And you can also enjoy trekking.
The name Pachmarhi is believed to mean five caves. It is believed that the Pandavas had come here during their 13 years of exile during the Mahabharata period and they built five caves here.
Pachmarhi has been the cantonment of the army since the time of the British, even today you can see the cantonment of the Indian army here. Many different types of herbs are found in the areas around Pachmarhi, from which Ayurvedic medicines are made.
If you want to go to Pachmarhi, then make a plan for at least 2 to 3 days so that you will be able to see the beauty there very well. And also keep in mind this thing especially that to reach any place you have to walk, so if the elderly are with you then you will be able to roam only a few places. But if you are fond of trekking then this place is a better option for you.
How to reach???
Pachmarhi is located in the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. To reach here, you can come to Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. In front of Bhopal, you can go to Pipariya, the nearest station of Pachmarhi by train, beyond that you will have to travel by bus. Or you can also reach Pachmarhi by car directly from Bhopal or Indore. The distance from Bhopal - Capital of Madhya Pradesh to Pachmarhi by road is 210 kms, which can be easily covered by car, I would suggest that you travel by car because the route from Pipariya to Pachmarhi is a very beautiful 30 km route. You probably won't want to miss. Traveling on the winding paths of the mountains through the forests is a different pleasure. You will try to travel from Pipariya to Pachmarhi early in the morning so that you will be able to enjoy nature to the fullest.

When to go???
Although you can visit Pachmarhi in any season but my personal suggestion would be to avoid going when it rains heavily because many places are closed for tourists by the Forest Guard at that time. According to me the best season to visit here is winter. Just keep in mind that if you are going somewhere in this season for trekking, then come back before dark, because wherever there is a place for trekking, they all go through dense forests, so try to avoid getting dark. First you come back otherwise you can wander in the forest.
Where to go and what to see???

If you are a nature lover then you will never forget Pachmarhi. As I have told you earlier that before reaching Pachmarhi, you have to reach through the winding mountain paths from the middle of the forests, then from here your journey starts becoming memorable. There are many places to visit through the middle of the small town, but I would like to tell you about some special places here, not that you must see.

Pachmarhi is also famous mainly for temples, some of the main temples are Jatashankar, Gupt Mahadev, Bada Mahadev and Chauragarh Temple. All these temples also have their own mythology about which the local guide will give you proper information.
Another specialty of Pachmarhi is that Dhupgarh, the highest peak of Madhya Pradesh, is also located here. From Dhupgarh, you will get to see such views of sunset and sunrise which you will not forget for the rest of your life.
But remember that you cannot go to Dhupgarh by your personal car, for that you have to take a gypsy.
Wildlife
Like I told you earlier that Pachmarhi is surrounded by the dense forests of Satpura and there is also the Satpura Tiger Reserve. Safari facility is also available in the Tiger Reserve, for which you have to register separately, which you can also do online. The areas around Pachmarhi mainly include tiger, leopard, wild boar, gaur (bison), chital deer, sambar deer, chinkara, nilgai, Indian wolf and flying squirrel.Where did you stop???
Although there are many lodges and hotels and resorts to stay in Pachmarhi, then you will not face any problem of staying. Their fare starts from ₹ 800 to ₹ 1000 and resort fare starts from ₹ 6000 to ₹ 7000. If you are planning to visit Pachmarhi in the weekend, then you may have to pay a little more fare. So my advice would be that if you are planning to visit Pachmarhi in the winter season, then book the hotel well in advance otherwise You may face problems.
Precautions -
Well, there is no such thing as getting upset in Pachmarhi. But some precautions are necessary, such as do not make the mistake of going to the dense forests, walk only on the roads which are made for tourism, because there is a danger of wild animals here.
Keep one more thing in mind that if a guide tells you that he can show you wild animals by taking him on a safari in the forest during the night time, then do not get into his talk because the government gypsies stop running in the night time and You will not be able to go into any dense forest with your personal car and if you try to do so then you may have to pay a heavy fine.
So make a plan to visit Pachmarhi as soon as possible and capture some beautiful moments in your life. If you got some help from this article, then do tell in the comment section.
